i'd like to make a pair of retractions/corrections.

(1). Fairfax: i have it on good authority from the Mad Macedonian that Fairfax, VA is neither fetid nor a cesspool. apparently it's nice. according to the all-knowing internet, "Fairfax County recently won nine 2003 National Association of Counties Achievement Awards, one Virginia Association of Counties Achievement Award, and one VACo Honorable Mention and one International City/Council Management Association award." aside from using the word "and" twice in listing their awards, it sounds like these guys are on the ball. who would have thought? my apologies to Tony and to any residents of the city of Fairfax or Fairfax county who may have been offended by my ignorant Virginia-bashing.

(2). Stalker Mustache & Needles McTattoo turned out to be better-than-advertised pickups for Subway. after some strong sandwich-making the other day i've been converted. given some time to learn the system, i'm now convinced that they could provide some of the bench scoring that Subway has been desperately looking for in preparation for a deep playoff run. my doubts about their potential were completely unfounded.
