i have been considering something on and off for a while, and talking about it last night started the wheels turning again. against my better judgement and in spite of my experience, i think i'm going to go eat at Hardees. this is by no means a sure thing or a done deal, but their new ad campaign (Hardees - we don't suck anymore) has gotten me wondering if it's true. their decision to admit up front that their restaurant was/is terrible and then give a short Rocky IV inspired speech about change is admirable for its audacity, at least. but although one part of me wants to put the Hardees ad men to the test, the other part of me worries that perhaps they're sitting in a boardroom somewhere drinking Beam & milk and watching hidden camera footage of people paying for their "improved" food, eating it and then turning purple and running to the bathroom, laughing all the while. they are also smoking cigars made out of money. so while i am admittedly curious about their new ding dong king kong sing song burger, i'm not sure if i'm $3.95 curious, if you know what i mean. but i am hungry, which is probably because i've been thinking about food the whole time i've been writing. now i want lunch and it's only 10:20. dammit. well, i'm not sure if i'm going to go to Hardees or not, but i'm definitely going to stop thinking about it.
