not a lot of news from the island today, i'm sorry to report. we finished entering Phill (that's Phil with TWO L's) sales disclosure scans. i'm not exactly how we got tricked/forced/dragooned into doing his work for him, but whomever it was that he conned (and i secretly have a very good idea who it was he fooled) sure got had. boy did they get bamboozled. when i see people who don't do their work, i sit passively in quietude and make (silent) aggressive remarks to myself. what i don't do is volunteer to do their work for them. i especially don't do their work for them when they're short unattractive hucksters who work at the County and are married to their boss.

also: i went into Regional Waste today to drop some outgoing mail in their box. i discovered this: Regional Waste has a nice nice office. much nicer than ours, that's for sure. i didn't get a chance to check out the whole thing but the entry area looked pretty swanky. here's a head to head comparison:

us:
ugly half-height cubicle walls that do not match the office walls
somewhat kitchy wooden carving with name of secretary displayed prominently on said wall
crappy old computer at desk with unattractive rolly chair
unattractive chairs shoved into a corner

them:
actual half-height wall papered to match the office walls
miniature gumball machine perched delicately on aforementioned wall
comfortable looking chairs arranged nicely against one wall
endtable things
books on said tables
potted plants (either extremely good reproductions or actual live plants)
glass display cases containing various & sundry awards/plaques (i had to scoot out before i could scrutinize these)

damn those bastards over in Regional Waste. damn them and their nice office. what do they think they are, better than us? is that it? huh? because if it is, let me tell you! they've got it coming. oh, do they have it coming. they'll get theirs. oh yes... they'll get theirs soon enough...
