couldn't get out of the office soon enough today. if i had to printout one more TPS Report... er, CAMA Analysis, i think i would have cracked. normally lunch would provide a little respite from the office as i had begun to develop an attachment to the crew working at Subway across the street. there was a little rapport there, some nebulous camaraderie between individuals who didn't like their jobs but do them anyway, and on top of all of it they even managed to make a proper sandwich. however, it seems that the General Manager of the gas station Subway has engineered a number of trades recently, because in exchange for

The blond girl (6'2", makes a good sandwich, remembers what you ordered last time, always happy to see you) and
The punk guy (5'10", once claimed to be the lead singer of a band named Square Testes, usually has something funny to say, works the register adequately)

the 1PM lunch crew got
The creep (5'7", stalker mustache, looks like early composites of Elizabeth Smart's kidnapper, makes your sandwich but gives you the hairy eyeball in return),
The jailbird (6'0", heavily tattooed, dumb as a box of rocks, can't figure out how to use the knife, needs to shave regularly) and
Cashregister Girl (5'6", makes change accurately, no real downside, but not much upside)

so while they picked up one reasonable employee, they got rid of their two best employees (by my reckoning) and to make matters worse, management failed to take this opportunity to unload The Crone, the old too-bright-it-must-be-dyed-its-so-ugly red haired woman who can't seem to cut the bread, keep the toppings on the sandwich, and gives you the "we don't serve you [criminals] in this Subway" stare every time you step up to the register. maybe they needed some room under the salary cap. either way, this has left me feeling pretty disgruntled. unless there are some dynamic roster improvements in the coming days, i'm heading for greener pastures, just as soon as i fill up that last card with Subway stamps.
