it's been a rough couple of weeks here on the island. not a lot has happened. life slowed down from a brisk walk to a crawl, and then stopped entirely. it is now sitting under a bush and looking peevish. words like malaise, gauche, cliche, passe and ennui have started creeping their way back into my internal monologue. most of this is simply to relieve the utter monotony of the repeated use of the word "boring". based on a brief review of recent events, i believe Wednesday, October 29th to be the beginning of all my problems. however, all of that is about to change. tomorrow is an election day. which means that (A) i don't have to go into work and (B) i will get paid for working 7.5 hours. this qualifies, hands down, as the best thing to happen to me in the last week, which is remarkable, considering my haircut was on Thursday and by all accounts it was "dynamite." i'm not sure what exactly i'm going to do with my election day, but at the least i'll get up early and do my American duty to (1). buy something and (2). drink heavily.
not very funny stuff, is it? this is what happens when i get bored. consider this a tacit plea for help. please, for the love of God! make something happen!
