a friend of Katina's has been making some noise about getting me to put his name on my blog so that he might be able to find a reference to himself by Google-ing his own name. i'm not sure how i feel about this. frankly, i don't really want to do it. i am not particularly interested in being someone's publicity whore. still, i have a feeling that i am being stubborn for little or no reason. but despite all of the evidence suggesting irrational stubbornness, i feel a bit like David facing down Goliath, Rocky standing toe-to-toe with Drago, Van Damme staring down Raul Julia in Raul Julia's last movie, ever or perhaps like our current president. that is to say, determined and smugly self-righteous and not about to concede any ground on this point or listen to any objections. however, i do not want to be a jerk. i liked this friend of Katina's when i met him. he's a nice guy. and the part of me that tells me that i'm acting like a two-year-old also tells me that i should probably just give in on this point. so i'll cave. here it is, Rory, your name in print:
R0ry Ea$tBürg
and from now on, we here on the Island will be sticking to a strict policy of obviously decipherable and infinitely variable nicknames/aliases. no shoes, no shirts, no exceptions.
