Cape Fear (1991)

Nick Nolte lights up the screen in this classic sports movie about a down-on-its-luck baseball team attempting to prevent the widow of the recently-deceased owner from moving the team to Florida. Nolte and a cast of loveable misfits (including Robert De Niro as the powerful, yet inaccurate Rick Vaughn) must pull together to win the pennant and save their franchise. Many exemplary performances were turned in for this film, including Gregory Peck as Dorn, the over-the-hill pitcher and Juliette Lewis as Cuban slugger Pedro Cerrano. Jessica Lange was obviously quite talented, but lacked the blazing speed and acting chops to pull off Willie Mays Hays.
