Back in the office after a weekend in chicago. i saw a lot of folks i hadn't seen or talked to in a good long while. except for a minor tragedy the entire weekend went off without a hitch. i'm not usually much for nostalgia, but realizing that (1a.) hyde park is my home and (1b.) i do not live in hyde park made me (2.) somewhat sad. however, that aside, hanging out with some people i don't see much was bodacious. seeing steve makin chuck a beer across the room and almost hit some guy in the head was pretty cool, too.

a list of some good things about my weekend:
driving a nice car for a change, nostalgia, spending some time with my sister, a housewarming party, camaraderie, beer-throwing, being drunk, football, familiar (good) restaurants, Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball, walking around instead of driving absolutely everywhere

a list of much-less-good things about my weekend:
a family emergency, five flights of stairs, getting jake's car out of the impound lot, falling asleep too early, staying up way too late, the atmosphere at jimmy's, feeling maudlin on my way home, forgetting my toothbrush
